Reflector, also called mirror,It is an optical element that works by using the law of reflection.
The mirror include three types according to its shape: plane mirror, spherical mirror and non-spherical mirror.
According to the degree of reflection, it can be divided into full reflector and semi-transparent mirror(also called beam splitter). In the past, mirrors were often silver-plated on glass. Recently, the standard process is to vacuum evaporate aluminium on highly polished substrates and then coat them with silicon oxide or magnesium fluoride. In special applications, metal-induced losses can be replaced by multilayer dielectric films. Because the reflection law has nothing to do with the frequency of light, the working frequency band of this element is very wide, and it can reach the UV light, visible light,IR light wavelength. So it’s widely used on many field.
